Community Calendar

Kick up your heels Friday, January 16th. for the first contra dance of 2026 featuring Seth Levine and Tucson's own Rave Review. Dance starts at 7:15 at the Mesilla Community Center and includes a lesson for newcomers.

No partner needed for this evening of fun! Everyone is welcome!

The MVJBS calendar kicks off on Jan. 18 with a favorite of the society, the David Borrego Trio, for the first monthly meeting of the year. The group includes David Borrego on guitar, Ricky Malichi on drums, and Hector Olea on upright bass.

Audiences can catch the trio performing throughout Las Cruces and El Paso, charming audiences with a mix of jazz standards and original compositions. All three musicians are involved in music education, and can also be found performing in their own groups and various other ensembles around the borderland.

Admission for the society’s monthly meetings is $5 for MVJBS members and $10 for non-members. Ticketing information is available online at mvjazzblues.net.

Rehearsals begin for the Mesilla Valley Chorale's Spring concert, "I Hear America Singing." The first rehearsal will begin at 6:30 for registration and music distribution. All others begin at 7:00.
