April 2026 at the Deming Art Center will feature the wonderful designs and innovative creations of the Deming High School art students. It is always exciting to see what they have created, and we invite the community to support these young artists by stopping by to see for yourselves. The exhibit will be up from April 2 – 29, 2026. There will be a time to meet these talented student artists on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 1-2:30PM at the Deming Art Center which is located at 100 S. Gold St., Deming, NM.

Learning English as a Second Language

These classes are for those people who can be helped with extending a healthy diet using common pantry items. Also learning from each other.

The 21st annual J. Paul Taylor Social Justice Symposium scheduled for April 7-8, 2026, will revisit the "Justice for the Women of Juarez” 2006 symposium, where families of feminicide victims, scholars, journalists, lawyers, human rights defenders, and others will discuss what developments have taken place over twenty years to end and address gender-based violence and feminicides. The two-day symposium taking place at Corbett Center, will consist of four panels each day, with a keynote each day followed by an ending event at the Corbett Center Outdoor Stage. Mexico City based documentarian, Carlos Perez Osorio will serve as a keynote showing his film, The Three Deaths of Marisela Escobedo. Films will be shown on April 7th throughout the day, and art-based supplies will be provided for the second day of the event for people to create messages of hope and advocacy, in addition to the day-long speakers in Corbett Center Auditorium. University and community sponsors will contribute to art-based advocacy including art by students from the J. Paul Taylor Academy, and other art and archival collections that will be displayed by the Rio Grande Collection through Branson Library.
