Las Cruces Space Festival Student Show presents posters made by students from Columbia and Sunrise Elementary Schools plus a few additions. This exhibition runs from Sept 5-28, 2025 at Duende Arte Gallery located at 921 N. Mesquite St in Las Cruces, NM. Artwork by Miguel Perez, this year's winner.
Drawing from the University Art Museum's extensive collection of over 2,200 Mexican retablos, Trinities of Heaven and Earth explores the spiritual and cultural importance of these sacred images. Retablos, small devotional paintings traditionally displayed in Mexican homes, served as vital expressions of Catholic faith and values within the household. The imagery of the Holy Family conveys blessings related to family life, while depictions of the Holy Trinity invoke divine guidance. Together, these themes explore the connection between sacred devotion and earthly life, bridging the divine and the domestic.
The exhibition will open on March 21, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Margie and Bobby Rankin Retablo Gallery, and will be open until March 7, 2026.

We are beyond HONORED to have this year's Gala in the Garden sponsored in loving memory of Alex Olsen and Martyn Pearson. Alex's culinary arts lessons to students and bringing in families for movie nights, are remembered fondly. This year's theme, Gather & Grow encompasses looking at what nourishes us, even beyond food, and prepares us for a thriving future.
Our theme, “Gather & Grow,” brings our NEW mission to life: to cultivate food security, self-sufficiency, and sustainability in Grant County. Guests will enjoy a beautiful fall evening filled with delicious food prepared by guest Chef Paul Edwards and his team from Tucson, AZ, live music, garden ambiance, and a silent auction featuring local items.
The Gala is not just a celebration — it’s a vital fundraiser that supports both our ongoing and expanding work to meet the real and rising need for food access in our community. New Mexico remains among the top states for food insecurity, and Grant County is no exception.
