The Asombro Institute for Science Education invites you to Wildlife Wonders: Radical Reptiles! This family-friendly event will take place at Asombro’s Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park on Saturday, May 18 from 9 am until noon. The event will feature exciting activities such as “Tools of the Trade” and “Conservation Heroes.” Hands-on booths will be themed around New Mexican reptiles in need of conservation and awareness. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet herpetologists, practice lizard research techniques, and collect up to three trading cards highlighting reptile species in need of conservation.
Wildlife Wonders is supported, in part, by a grant to Asombro from the New Mexico Department of Game & Fish Share with Wildlife Program. This event is free to the public but a suggested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family will be welcome.
The Storytellers of Las Cruces welcome story lovers of all ages to free storytelling sessions every Saturday morning at the Main. St. location. Children who attend will receive a coupon worth up to $3 on any children’s book. Storytellers will be performing at the COAS Solano location (1101 South Solano Drive) on the first Saturday of every month.

Join Fair Farmers Market every Sunday from 8-noon on Plaza de Las Cruces for a market dedicated to local farmers and producers. We have a artisan soaps, fine art, bakeries, health and body products, home decor, meat and cheese vendors, and produce. Come support a growing community focused on the the farmer and feeding the people! We are a part of the NM EBT program!

Come to the Mesilla Valley Grotto's monthly meeting to learn about wild caving and to meet experienced cavers. Watch interesting presentations and hear stories from past caving trips! You are welcome whether you want to enter a wild cave or just learn about caving in New Mexico caves. If you want to join a wild caving trip, attend our meetings and let us know of your interest! You can borrow a caving helmet for your first couple outings, to make sure that you like it!
