October 2026, at the Deming Art Center will feature the annual DAC Membership exhibit. Anyone who is a member of the Deming Art Center is eligible to participate and there will be a diverse body of work on display. The show will run from October 2-30, 2026. There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1PM – 2:30PM and the public is invited. The center is located at 100 S. Gold St., in Deming, NM and is open from 10AM – 4PM, Mon – Fri, and 10 – 1PM on Saturday. The Grant County Art Guild Studio is hosting the INTO THE WILD art exhibition which showcases the work of local painters Mona Prater and Paula Manning-Lewis. Manning-Lewis will be showing her new collection of Gila trees; Prater will be populating that forest with her most recent body of work-- portraits of Gila wildlife. Into the Wild will be on display for two weekends. Dates/hours are Oct 3-4 & 10-11, Saturdays 10am-5pm, Sundays 10am-4pm.

Las Cruces Board Gamers meets every Thursday at NMSU Corbett Center on the ground floor, at the windowed room across from Chick Fil e. We usually meet at NMSU though can also go to other areas depending on school schedule. We often favor medium-difficulty games (pandemic is a good example), and often have a wide variety of options for different tastes. Usually not as much "kill your opponent" games. Free and we'll have games so if you don't have one to bring, that's okay, just bring yourself!

OPEN CALL FOR ART: MUSICAL VISIONS

All entries must depict, or be inspired by, music: musical experiences, genres, titles or lyrics, musicians, instruments, sound systems and more! Deadline for entry is Oct 15. Art drop off is Nov 23. Show dates are Nov 27-Dec 6. Show location is the Grant County Art Guild Studio, 307 N Texas, Silver City.

The Share the Road Visibility Ride helps build awareness that bicyclists and motorists can share the road safely and that commuting to work on a bicycle is a viable transportation choice. Commuting by bicycle has multiple benefits. Save money by riding just one day a week and cut 20% of your weekly fuel cost and save automobile maintenance expenses. Fight pollution by using emission free transportation. Stay fit and use your commute time as your workout instead of paying to go to a gym. Enjoy your commute and arrive at work refreshed and full of energy; ride off work stress on the way home.

The Visibility Ride is a real-life, real-time demonstration of how bicyclists can ride with traffic safely. We bicycle together on the second Monday once a month to help raise awareness among motorists of the presence of bicyclists, of motorists' ability to share the road safely with bicyclists, and of how bicyclists behave while driving in traffic. The Ride is led by League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors, and bicyclists that wish to learn tips for better commuting skills are invited to participate.

The Ride leaves the Las Cruces Railroad Museum at the west end of Las Cruces Avenue at 7:15am. The ride goes up Las Cruces to Espina, across to Kansas, up to Solano, continues to University, then back on Espina to Las Cruces and ends at Grounded on the corner of Main and Las Cruces at about 8:00am. We ask that all bicyclists wear helmets and follow the rules of the road. Join us for coffee at Grounded if you can't make the ride.
