Abigail Salas
Multimedia JournalistAbigail Salas is a New Mexico Local News Fund Fellow. She will be serving as a multimedia journalist for KRWG. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies from NMSU in 2025. She is a Las Cruces native and is excited to share the stories of the people of the community and to give a voice to those that need one.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Doña Ana County BOCC voted to approve inducement for $165 billion in industrial revenue bonds to build an AI center campus. -
Chaparral community members have volunteered to create a library in collaboration with Doña Ana County, but due to delays and lack of resources the project has taken longer than expected. -

Medicaid eligibility reports by the New Mexico Healthcare Authority show that as of July, 809,454 New Mexicans are enrolled in Medicaid and about 40% live in rural communities. -
