Drawing from the University Art Museum's extensive collection of over 2,200 Mexican retablos, Trinities of Heaven and Earth explores the spiritual and cultural importance of these sacred images. Retablos, small devotional paintings traditionally displayed in Mexican homes, served as vital expressions of Catholic faith and values within the household. The imagery of the Holy Family conveys blessings related to family life, while depictions of the Holy Trinity invoke divine guidance. Together, these themes explore the connection between sacred devotion and earthly life, bridging the divine and the domestic.
The exhibition will open on March 21, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Margie and Bobby Rankin Retablo Gallery, and will be open until March 7, 2026.

The Artists of Picacho Hills is pleased to announce a new art event, The Fall Festival of Art, November 8, 2025, from 9 am to 4pm. The show will feature more than 20 juried artists. Patrons will see paintings, pottery, weavings, jewelry, fused glass, ceramics, photography, and much more. Las Cruces artist Mary Beagle is the featured artist for September and October at the Tombaugh Gallery. The opening reception is First Friday, September 5, 5 to 7pm featuring live music by Yolanda Martinez and Karuna Warren. Mary works with oil on canvas and her paintings reflect her love of native and Latino cultures and celebrations. Mary and her husband, David, have travelled to Native American gatherings throughout the country. Working as a team, Mary paints all her work and David does all her custom framing. The exhibit includes several sculptures made by Mary in Limestone, Alabaster and Marble.
54th Las Cruces Renaissance Arts Faire--Hazzah! Welcome all to the Royal Realm where the past comes to life. Dona Ana Arts Council hosts its annual Ren Arts Faire again in Young Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico! See Olde world pageantry, witness dueling and jousting, sample Faire fare from all over the Enchanted Realm, and purchase beautiful handcrafted art from regional artisans. Entertainment at the Main Stage, Queens Court, and wandering performers. Great fun for all!
November 2025 at the Deming Art Center is the annual Recycle Show which is sponsored by Luna County and “Keep Luna County Beautiful.” Featured will be pieces of art made from at least 90% recycled materials and crafted by artists of all ages.
Intake will be Saturday, November 1, from 9AM – 12PM. Show will be judged, and prizes awarded.
Sunday, November 2, is the official show opener and the public is invited to meet the artists from 1-2:30PM. The show runs from November 3 – 28, 2025.
Also, on November 22, from 8:30AM – 1:30PM, there will be the second annual “Art Fest”. This is a one day event featuring local artists and will be held at the Methodist Church (1020 S. Granite), in the Gym. Come out and see these multi-talented artists and their creations- lots of gift ideas will be on display!
The Deming Art Center is located at 100 S. Gold, Deming NM, and is open from 10AM-4PM Monday – Friday and 10AM – 1PM on Saturday.
