Scott Brocato
All Things Considered Anchor and ReporterScott Brocato has been an award-winning radio veteran for over 35 years. Hailing from St. Louis, MO, he has worked in such cities as St. Louis, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Athens GA as an on-air personality, airborne traffic reporter, newscaster, and program director. He has lived and worked in Las Cruces since 2016, and you can hear him regularly during "All Things Considered from NPR News" from 4 pm-7 pm on weekdays. Off the air, he is also a local actor and musician, and you can catch him rocking the bass with his band Flat Blak on weekends in and around Las Cruces and El Paso.

New Mexico State University’s Nelson-Boswell reading series continues Friday evening at 7:30 in the Creative Media Institute Theatre inside Milton Hall. Friday’s featured readers will be wife and husband Danielle Dutton and Martin Riker, both writers and professors in the English department at Washington University in St. Louis. Scott Brocato spoke with them for a preview of their writings from which they’ll be reading Friday.

The program Dress The Child provides new clothing and shoes to Dona Ana County children living in poverty. On Sunday, October 6, Dress The Child will be hosting a multi-course fundraising dinner called the Sunset Soiree: An Evening Under the Stars, at Amador Live in Las Cruces. The U.S. Air Force is proposing to increase combat training above the Gila and the surrounding region, which would also include significantly lowering supersonic jet flights over the Catwalk and Gila Wilderness. An exhibition by renowned Mesilla photographer Emmitt Booher, “Dunes & Dreams: A Portrait of White Sands National Park”, opens Friday, September 6th, with an opening reception from 5-7pm at the Branigan Cultural Center in downtown Las Cruces. The exhibit will run through October 16th. It will include 21 black and white photographs by Booher, who talks with Scott Brocato about the exhibition and what keeps drawing him back to White Sands.
