From Cape Verde, vocalist and songwriter Elida Almeida carries the warmth, rhythm, and resilience of her island roots into every performance. Winner of the 2015 Prix Decouvertes RFI, she blends batuque, funaná, coladera, tabanka, and contemporary pop influences into music that is joyful, soulful, and socially aware. With her band, Almeida offers an uplifting world music experience shaped by rich percussion, radiant vocals, and the vibrant spirit of Cabo Verde.
