NMWS-Southern Chapter April Meeting
NMWS-Southern Chapter April Meeting
Southern Chapter NMWS Signature Member Laurel Weathersbee will demonstrate salvaging and giving new life to a "failed" watercolor painting by using collage. Selecting parts and pieces of various incomplete watercolor paintings, Laurel will transmogrify some disappointments into colorful successes! Only tools will be bad paintings, scissors, paste and a sense of fun. All parts of work will be watermedia on watercolor paper, allowable by NMWS standards in juried exhibitions. For nearly 50 years, Laurel has been cutting, pasting, coloring and painting to express her delight in the shapes and colors of her surroundings. Her realistic torn- and cut-paper collage method is unique, developed over several years, and results from her desire to express the gorgeous colors and textures of the Southwest.
