April 2026 at the Deming Art Center will feature the wonderful designs and innovative creations of the Deming High School art students. It is always exciting to see what they have created, and we invite the community to support these young artists by stopping by to see for yourselves. The exhibit will be up from April 2 – 29, 2026. There will be a time to meet these talented student artists on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 1-2:30PM at the Deming Art Center which is located at 100 S. Gold St., Deming, NM. The gallery hours are 10AM – 4PM Monday – Friday and 10AM – 1PM on Saturday. Enjoy the far-ranging work of 50 Grant County Art Guild members in our annual art exhibition. The show runs for 2 weekends, April 4-5 & 10-12. Show hours are 10am-5pm. Celebrate springtime with five local artisans. Suzanne Kane creates desert inspired sculptures blending welded steel with mid-fired stoneware. A.Me and Mitch Alamag (Rokoko) create colorful, whimsical and thoughtful contemporary folk art. Mary Lou LaCasse makes metal and ceramic garden sculptures which are eclectic and include weldable found pieces of metal. Rosemary McLoughlin is primarily an oil painter who incorporates magical figures and animals into her paintings. Join the artists at the First Friday reception, April 3 from 5 to 7 for discussion. refreshments and live music.
These classes are for those people who can be helped with extending a healthy diet using common pantry items. Also learning from each other.
What can trees teach us about art?
Wood carver/biologist Mark Cantrell will discuss how the process of tree growth affects his sculptural choices and influences his narrative through shape, line, geometry, composition and texture.
Want to know more? After the 1pm talk, stay for an afternoon of conversation. Until 4pm, Cantrell will share videos, favorite tools, and discuss demonstration pieces.

Dead Meadow is a Washington, D.C.-based band known for blending heavy 1970s-style stoner rock riffs with dreamy 1960s psychedelia and folk influences. Their sound is characterized by fuzzy guitars, hypnotic, slow-burn jams, and melodic, airy vocals. They are considered key pioneers in modern psychedelic rock, creating a spacey, "heavy psych" experience.
All proceeds go to paying the Performers and Supporting Live Music.
