Doña Ana Community College Workforce & Community Engagement is offering training opportunities for faculty, staff, and community members to enhance their foundational computer skills.

Microsoft Excel:
Three levels of Microsoft Excel training. The MS Excel classes allow you to learn Microsoft’s popular spreadsheet program, whether you are a beginner or an experienced user looking to hone your skills. Take one or all three levels—in-person classes at DACC Workforce – 2345 E. Nevada Ave, Las Cruces, NM.
Introduction to Excel. This 8-hour (TWO 4-hour sessions) in-person training provides learners with an overview of working with functions, lists, and tables in Microsoft Excel.
** Friday mornings: September 5th and September 12th – 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Intermediate Excel This 8-hour (TWO 4-hour sessions) in-person training provides learners with an overview of working with functions, lists, and tables in Microsoft Excel. Participants will learn how to analyze data, visualize data using charts, and utilize PivotTables and PivotCharts.
**Friday mornings: October 17th and 24th 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Advanced Excel Learn advanced functions in MS 2019 Excel, including working with multiple worksheets and workbooks, sharing and protecting workbooks, using lookup functions, forecasting data, and creating sparklines and mapping data.
**Friday mornings: November 7th and 14th – 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Social time with coffee and goodies followed by a speaker on a topic of interest to the Parkinson's community. Caregivers as well as those diagnosed with Parkinson's are cordially invited.

September 2025 at the Deming Art Center will feature an exhibit of fiber arts, that could include paper, wood, leather, fiber clay and small fabric items (no quilts). There is a talented group of Fiber Artists in the area and we look forward to what they will bring to this exhibit.

All entries in the 'Creatures" show represent, or are inspired by, creatures (mammals, fish, birds, reptiles and insects) who live in the Gila River watershed. A description of the actual creature on which the work is based will be displayed along with the piece, so this show is perfect for those who love art AND for those who want to know more about Gila wildlife.

The show runs for two weekends, Aug 30-Sep 1 & Sep 5-7 (10am-5pm). The opening reception is Aug 29. A second reception will be held during September's First Friday Sep 5, 5-7pm.

Las Cruces artist Mary Beagle is the featured artist for September and October at the Tombaugh Gallery. The opening reception is First Friday, September 5, 5 to 7pm featuring live music by Yolanda Martinez and Karuna Warren. Mary works with oil on canvas and her paintings reflect her love of native and Latino cultures and celebrations. Mary and her husband, David, have travelled to Native American gatherings throughout the country. Working as a team, Mary paints all her work and David does all her custom framing. The exhibit includes several sculptures made by Mary in Limestone, Alabaster and Marble.

The Academy for Learning in Retirement’s four-part series in September 2025 will discuss Radical Melodies, Harmonies, Orchestration and Rhythm, 1800-1940. Our presenter will be Maestro Lonnie Klein, Music Director/Conductor Emeritus, New Mexico State University. Composers featured in the series include Beethoven, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Chopin, Bernstein, Gershwin, Still and Gottschalk. Week One of the series will be held on Tuesday and Thursday starting September 2 and Week Two will be the following Tuesday and Wednesday. Dr. Klein’s in-person presentation will be at the Dona Ana Community College—East Mesa auditorium.

Audience members may register for the Academy for Learning in Retirement’s four September sessions or for all 14 Fall presentations by searching on the Web for DACC_ALR. People may also register with cash or checks at the door. Free coffee and cookies will be available in the nearby DACC Student Resources Center Building from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Las Cruces Space Festival Student Show presents posters made by students from Columbia and Sunrise Elementary Schools plus a few additions. This exhibition runs from Sept 5-28, 2025 at Duende Arte Gallery located at 921 N. Mesquite St in Las Cruces, NM. Artwork by Miguel Perez, this year's winner.

Space art enthusiasts come and see art that reflects The Nature of Space! This year's Las Cruces Space Festival art show will be juried and featured at Gallery 925 from September 5 to 28, 2025. The gallery is at 925 N Mesquite St, Las Cruces, NM. Gallery hours are Friday: 1 pm - 5 pm, Saturday: 11 am - 5 pm, Sunday:  11 am - 5 pm or by appointment. Art by Noel Sandino.

2025 Las Cruces Space Festival Art Show
This year, the art show will be juried and featured at Gallery 925 from September 5 to 28, 2025. The annual Las Cruces Space Festival art show promises to feature something for everyone, from photography to whimsical-themed depictions of The Nature of Space.

The show will feature 28 artists' works that range from astrophotography to figurative paintings and representations of space phenomena.
