On this special episode of Fronteras- A Changing America, we get to know award-winning Native American musician and storyteller Randy Granger who calls Las Cruces home. Granger's music will be featured in "The American Buffalo" a film by Ken Burns premiering October 16th at 7 p.m. on television from KRWG Public Media.

This week, we get an up-close look at an NMSU museum exhibit that highlights lowrider culture in the borderland. Also, award-winning borderland author Denise Chávez discusses the exhibit, her work, and life growing up in the borderland region.

A new book co-edited by a faculty member from New Mexico State University’s School of Social Work examines the challenges facing social work and human rights around the globe in a post-colonial world. On the program, we learn about the dangerous journey migrants traveling from South America make as they travel north through the Darién Gap in Colombia and Panama. Robert Moore, Founder and CEO of El Paso Matters, the nonprofit news organization, recently traveled to the region.
