Music Beyond Borders Concert

 

The Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso, the Centro Cultural Mexicano Paso del Norte, the New Mexico State University Philharmonic Orchestra and Esperanza Azteca Ciudad Juarez Symphony Orchestra present "Music beyond borders", where talent and style will be present on March 1, at 6:00 p.m., at the Atkinson Recitals Hall in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

 

Free entrance.

 

"Music beyond borders" starts as an initiative lead by the Consulate General of Mexico, Simón Gollo, Director of the New Mexico State University Philharmonic Orchestra, Jové García, Director of the Esperanza Azteca Symphony Orchestra Cd. Juarez and the association “Amigos de la Orquesta Sinfónica Esperanza Azteca Cd. Juárez”, with the objective of strengthening the cultural relationship among both countries and the academic exchange between one of the most important universities in the state (NMSU) and one of the most relevant social-musical projects in Mexico: The Youth Orchestra of Ciudad Juarez, one of 83 orchestras part of the Esperanza Azteca program managed by the Salinas foundation.

 

This great event will feature over 100 musicians on stage conducted by Simon Gollo and Jove Garcia, performing pieces such as the “New World” Symphony by Dvorak, Danzón No. 2 by Márquez, Summer time by Gershwin, and more.

 

With no doubt, this project will enrich this musicians that are showing a complete devotion during rehearsals, in order to give us an excellent concert.
