Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin's administration is pushing a conservative agenda including banning masks in schools, firing professors and urging parents to report critical race theory.
The businessman, the first Republican to hold the office in nearly a decade, took the oath alongside Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears. The pair surprised Democrats when they swept office in November.
Winsome Sears, a Republican, will be sworn into office Saturday in Virginia alongside Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin. Sears ran, in part, on the idea that the country's racial reckoning has gone too far.
