The guild has a social atmosphere for people interested in the art of quilting from beginners to professional quilters. Business meeting, show and tell of quilts, different drawings, quilt challenge, break for snacks/drinks before Program. Program is a project workshop at no charge. After a summer hiatus, the Southern Chapter of NMWS opens its new year with "My Artsy Summer", a chance for members and guests to bring paintings or sketchbooks they've created over the summer break, or speak of their art experiences over the summer. Members may also bring paintings that you've created after borrowing one of our DVDs to inspire others to learn more!

This is always a special and inspiring program to get reacquainted with each other and spark creativity and painting practice going forward.
We welcome the public to come to our meetings and get to know us and learn about watercolor. Hope to see you there!

Notice all the fun birders are having, but aren't sure birding is for you? Want to get outside, but need something interesting to do while you're there? Fascinated by all the birds around your home and want to learn a bit more about them? Here is the class for you!

Mesilla Valley Audubon Society is presenting a three-part class on Birding Basics on three consecutive Tuesday evenings, September 1, 8, and 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Creative Arts room of Las Cruces Village Senior Living. The class is free and is intended for those with little or no experience birding.

Topics covered include how to:
• Find, watch, and listen to birds
• Identify and learn about birds
• Record and share your observations
• Conserve birds and their environments
• Meet and learn from other birders

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — GET INTO DRAG takes over the Rio Grande Theatre on October 3rd with free drag films during the day, and a late night adults only drag show at night. Enjoy vending and concessions all day long at the beautifully restored Rio Grande Theatre in the heart of downtown Las Cruces.
