Santa Fe County, NM - On September 17, 2021, at around 1:53 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Interstate 25 near mile marker 291 north of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The initial investigation indicated a 2006 Toyota RAV4 was traveling north on Interstate 25 near mile marker 291. For reasons unknown, the driver of the Toyota left the roadway and rolled. The driver, John Armijo (65) of Pecos, NM was ejected and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Armijo was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor and seatbelts do not appear to have been properly utilized.
