On September 23 at 11:00 a.m., the Department of Game and Fish, the New Mexico State Game Commission and NGL Energy Partners will host the ribbon cutting of nearly 7,500 acres in eastern New Mexico.
This recently purchased property is a step to meeting Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's 30 by 30 executive order while providing quality habitat for the lesser prairie chicken.
Key presenters will speak to the importance of this species, conservation of the prairie chicken wildlife management areas and the impact on wildlife in New Mexico for generations to come.
The ceremony will be held approximately 40 miles southeast of Fort Sumner. Light refreshments will be provided. R.S.V.P. by email on or before September 20.
