Mawu Revels, 17, of Las Cruces was held without Bond in Third District Court of Doña Ana County. Revels is charged as an adult by Grand Jury Indictment for the death of Nicodemus Gonzales. Revel is charged with First Degree Murder (willful and deliberate), 1 count of Murder in the 1st degree – conspiracy, 2 counts Aggravated Assault (deadly weapon), 1 count of Aggravated Assault-conspiracy, 2 counts Shooting at or from a motor vehicle (no great bodily harm). District Court Judge Jaquez found Revels to be Dangerous, and that no Release Conditions will reasonably protect the safety of the community. Revels will remain in the Doña Ana County Detention Center.
On Saturday, July 31, officers were dispatched to shots fired at a loud party on the 1800 block of Chaparro Street. Officers arrived at the scene, finding Nicodemus Gonzales with a gunshot wound, he was declared deceased at the scene. Two Suspects were arrested; Isaiah James William Taylor and Mawu Revels, both are being held without bond until trial.
