SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Newly released video shows sheriff’s deputies in New Mexico firing their weapons at a suspect after he had dropped a gun and started running away. The video provides details that didn’t appear in the original narrative from New Mexico State Police, which investigated the deadly shooting in Santa Fe. The video shows Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies shoot the man on June 23 after pursuing him in a pickup truck wanted in connection with a reported assault. In the video, deputies shot at the man in two volleys, first when he's inside the truck and again as he gets out, drops his gun and tries to run away.
