ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The New Mexico State Fair is looking to hire hundreds of workers as it prepares to welcome back visitors in-person this year.
The September spectacle features funnel cakes, turkey legs, exhibits and carnival rides. It was scrapped last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, although some events took place virtually.
The event is scheduled Sept. 9-19 in Albuquerque. It drew about 475,000 visitors from around the state and region in 2019. Organizers say they're confident it can be held safely in person with plenty of social distancing, and hand-washing and sanitation stations.
