Schedule Released For El Paso Candidate Forums


The League of Women Voters El Paso announces its 2020 CANDIDATES FORUM on National Voter Registration Day September 22, 2020 sponsored national partner Alamo Drafthouse.  A Voter Registration Drive-thru will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Alamo Drafthouse Montecillo.

WHAT: The candidate forums will include District Forums for District 2, 3, 4, and 7 followed by a Mayoral Forum.

WHO: League of Women Voter El Paso and Alamo Drafthouse at Montecillo.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 22, 2020. District 2 candidate forum at 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. District 3, 1:15 - 2:15 p.m., District 4, 2:45 p.m. MAYORAL FORUM 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, the League of Women Voters El Paso will hold a Candidate Forum for Districts 2, 3, 4, and 7. A Mayoral Candidate Forum will also take place as part of the event.  

The Candidate Forum will be held in recognition of National Voter Registration Day. The event will be sponsored by the League of Women Voters in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse, at the Montecillo location. The Alamo Drafthouse is a National Voter Education partner of the LWVUS.

The schedule for the forums will begin at 12:00. The District 2 candidate forum will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. District 3 candidate forum from 1:15 p.m. - 2:15. District 3 from 2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. District 7 from 4:45 - 5:15 p.m.

The MAYORAL FORUM  will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Members of the media are welcomed at any time. Only 1 reporter and 1 camera person per media organization will be allowed to enter the venue and must sit in the designated media section. LWVEP volunteers will guide media representatives to that section. This event will enforce COVID-19 Health Department guidelines on social distancing and wearing masks at all times.
