A Vado man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly evaded Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies and crashed into a ditch.
Jared Rickman, 19, was spotted by patrol deputies just before 9 a.m., allegedly driving a stolen vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but Rickman reportedly fled, leading deputies on a pursuit.
Deputies say Rickman was traveling near Las Palmeras Road and Schrode Road between Berino and Anthony when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle as he attempted to negotiate a turn. According to a report, he ended up crashing into a ditch bank and was then taken into custody.
Rickman is currently being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on charges of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing from an officer and reckless driving.
