A Las Cruces man is suspected of striking a young relative causing a swollen, black eye.
Daniel Garza, 31, is charged with one third-degree felony count of child abuse.
On Friday, Aug. 23, Las Cruces police learned that Garza and a 12-year-old relative got into an argument. At some point during the argument, Garza allegedly hit the young relative’s face causing a swollen and black left eye.
When interviewed by police, Garza acknowledged that he spanked the relative but did not disclose where he struck the 12-year-old.
