Drop off recycling at the Old Foothills Landfill (OFL), 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd., is no longer open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That’s because of the growing problem of illegal dumping at the Recycling Yard, including the dumping of old furniture, used motor oil, and bags of trash. What once was a very convenient eastside drop off site for recyclables and glass bottles and jars is now enclosed with a chain link fence, and hours for recycling drop off are limited to the hours the OFL is open.
