A crash between an ATV and a pickup truck is being investigated by the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department, with charges pending against one of the ATV passengers.
The incident happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. in a desert area near the intersection of Airport Road and McNutt in Santa Teresa.
According to deputies who responded, the ATV was travelling west when it collided with a truck going northbound. Three passengers on the ATV were ejected, including a 14-year-old, a two-year-old and a woman reported to be the children’s mother.
Deputies don’t believe any of the riders were wearing helmets.
The mother and the 14-year-old – who was reportedly driving the vehicle – were transported to an El Paso-area hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation.
