Toucan Market In Las Cruces Announces It Will Remain Open

Recently, Toucan Market on University Avenue in Las Cruces announced it would be closing.  But the market now says it will stay open.  Here is a statement from the company:

Because of your overwhelming response to our announcement of intent to close, Joan and I were able to secure a loan from Pioneer Bank.  Yes, Toucan Market will remain open! A special thanks to all our customers for your support, we could not have done it without you!

Hats off to this staff, I must personally thank each of you for the terrific customer service you have always provided our customers.  Each of you have always gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service, dedication and loyalty.  Customers recognize the extra effort and this is the primary reason we keep our customers coming back.  We’re so proud to have this expert staff representing Toucan Market.

Pioneer Bank, one of our local banks stepping in not once, but twice.  Pioneer is the only bank that was willing to take a chance on Toucan Market 14 Years ago, we would not be here today if it was not for Dawson and Kiel at Pioneer.  When it seemed certain we would be closing, Kiel Hoffman reviewed the loan request, the numbers from that extraordinary week and told us he could make that work.  Even requested a special meeting of the officers to vote on final approval.  Thank you Pioneer Bank, that’s twice you supported us.

Talk about locals helping locals, Toucan Market is proud to support local venders from all over New Mexico including Las Cruces, Anthony, Deming, San Lorenzo, Clovis, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and more.  Local products including salsa, eggs, tortillas, spices, the best tomatoes in New Mexico, chile, amazing breads, candy, nuts, apples and the list go on…any way you get the idea. Know when your shop Toucan Market, you are supporting all these local vendors as well.  Pioneer bank supports a local business, local business supports local suppliers and you, our customers, support us all.

Finally, a special thanks to my family.  Many of you already know my son Rob as the manager of Toucan Market.  Thanks to him much of my work load has been lifted, he too is an exceptional individual, his Mom and I are very proud of him. I have saved the best for last, my wonderful wife Joan.  She has put up with me for 42 years and always laughs at my jokes even when they are not funny.  Her support has always been “The wind beneath my wings”.

See you all soon!

Thank You.

Bob, Joan and Rob Baur
