Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) is proud to offer comprehensive primary care services in some of Hidalgo and Grant counties’ most remote locations. “For many years, HMS has provided medical services to the communities of Animas, Cliff-Gila, and Mimbres,” stated Dan Otero, HMS Chief Executive Officer.
Added Otero, “However, there are periods of time when provider coverage for these remote areas becomes scarce, which leads to unforeseen changes in our clinic office hours. Kyle Rice, CNP, HMS Family Nurse Practitioner, has accepted a new career opportunity outside of HMS, and Jill Steidl, PA-C, HMS Certified Physician Assistant, will be serving as the primary health care provider at both the HMS Cliff-Gila Community Health Center and the HMS Mimbres Valley Clinic during this transition. We will miss Kyle and his inspiring leadership, and wish him the very best in his endeavors. We thank Jill very much for her willingness to support these communities on behalf of our patients’ and the community’s needs.”
Beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018, the HMS Cliff-Gila Community Health Center hours will be reduced from five days a week to three days a week. The HMS Cliff-Gila Community Health Center will be open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additionally, the HMS Mimbres Valley Clinic hours of operation will be reduced from three days a week to two days a week. Beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018, the HMS Mimbres Valley Clinic will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Otero said, “We hope that these HMS clinic schedule adjustments will be temporary. We are confident that these hours will meet the current demand within these communities, based on historical HMS patient volumes (encounters). The HMS mission of providing comprehensive, integrated, and affordable health care to the communities that we serve drives my decision-making each and every day.”
In an effort to meet the increasing community health care needs within Hidalgo County, the HMS Animas Valley Clinic will be open every Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
