A 34-year-old Las Cruces man is suspected of exposing himself to at least two young children Monday afternoon near MacArthur Elementary School.
Abraham Morales, 34, of the 1200 block of McFie Avenue, is charged with two fourth-degree felony counts of aggravated indecent exposure and one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.
Las Cruces Police detectives learned that Morales lives adjacent to the playground at MacArthur Elementary with only a chain link fence separating the two properties. On Monday, a teacher and two elementary school students were in the playground when they saw Morales facing the chain link fence and urinating.
Morales was estimated to be about 10 feet away from the two children who were sitting on a bench in the playground. The teacher also witnessed the incident.
Officers made contact with Morales who claimed that he had to urinate outdoors because he could not open the door to his residence.
Morales was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he is initially being held without bond.
