A Tuesday night dispute between a landlord and a tenant in Radium Springs led to a brief armed confrontation that landed the tenant in jail.
Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 700 block of Hurt Road just after 7 p.m. A victim reported that his tenant, 45-year-old Christopher Maldonado, had been arguing with him. The landlord also told deputies Maldonado threatened him with a knife.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and located the knife. Maldonado was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center without bond, pending arraignment.
