Las Cruces, NM — Angelica Rubio has formally entered the race for New Mexico House of Representatives District 35. A press release stated: "Known for her leadership in raising the minimum wage in Las Cruces, expanding voter’s rights throughout Dona Ana County and protecting the Organ Mountains, Rubio cites this momentum as one of many mandates driving her campaign."
“First and foremost, I’m running for this office, because my community has asked me to,” Rubio stated in a candid campaign kick off YouTube video. ”I believe that with this opportunity of an open seat in District 35, now is the right moment to step into public life and be the leader that my community wants and needs.”
Rubio was born and raised in New Mexico and holds a BA in Government from New Mexico State University, as well as a MA in Latin American Studies from California State University, Los Angeles.
