New Mexico State Police say the wreckage of a small plane has been found north of Tijeras and rescue crews now are searching for any possible survivors.
The Federal Aviation Administration notified Albuquerque law enforcement agencies that it lost radar touch with a plane in the area around 1 p.m. Monday.
The FAA says the plane is a Cessna C-182 registered to an aviation company in Wichita Falls, Texas.
State Police say wreckage belonging to the missing Cessna was located Tuesday near the Sandia Crest ski area.
They say single-engine plane was carrying three passengers from north Texas and it was headed to Las Vegas, Nevada.
State Police say the search and rescue mission is slow and tedious due to inclement weather conditions and rugged terrain.
