Las Cruces Mother Indicted After Child Tests Positive For Meth

  Las Cruces—A Grand Jury has found sufficient evidence to indict Monica Quintana, 34, mother of two children after her young son tested positive for methamphetamine.

Quintana and her children reside on Van Patten Street with her parents although she is the primary caregiver for her son who is on a ventilator and feeding tube. After the results of a hair sample from the boy tested positive for methamphetamine, Quintana was subsequently charged with Child Abuse-Negligently Caused.

Quintana faces 3 years of imprisonment if convicted.

A trial date is pending.
