A South Texas traffic stop has led to the discovery of $1.7 million of cocaine in the fake compartment of a luxury vehicle.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the bust happened Monday night on U.S. 281 south of Falfurrias (fal-FYOO'-ree-uhs). A trooper confiscated 28 pounds of cocaine, split into bundles.
DPS says the trooper stopped a northbound Porsche Cayenne for a traffic violation. The investigation led to a search and the cocaine was in a false compartment in the rear quarter-panel of the vehicle.
The driver was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
