Santa Fe New Mexican To Sell Downtown Building

The Santa Fe New Mexican is selling its downtown office building and moving employees to its printing facility on the edge of town.

The newspaper reports that Santa Fe New Mexican owner Robin Martin announced plans Monday but stressed that her company is not for sale.

Renovated in 2007, the building, which sits two blocks northeast of the Plaza on East Marcy and Otero streets, is being listed for $6.2 million. That building has been headquarters for the newspaper since 1942.

The property includes a 29,500-square-foot building and parking for 45 cars adjacent to the building and for another 55 vehicles in a lot north of Marcy Street.

Martin says long-term plans had called for the move since the company bought the new building in 2004.
