Investigators say a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 in far West Texas has left five people dead.
KVIA-TV in El Paso reports the accident happened early Monday near Fabens.
Officials say a westbound minivan apparently blew a tire and overturned, landing on eastbound lanes.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says an SUV that swerved to avoid the minivan rolled over. An 18-wheeler then hit the minivan.
Authorities say two women and three children in the minivan died.
Three other youngsters in the minivan were transported to a hospital. They were listed in critical but stable condition.
Officials say the truck driver was treated for minor injuries at a hospital. Authorities say four people in the SUV were treated at the scene.
I-10 was closed for several hours.
