Gov. Susana Martinez and the Chihuahua, Mexico-based Interceramic have held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new 80,000-square-foot Santa Teresa facility.
The ceremony Friday celebrating the new location of the company's newest U.S. distribution center in the Santa Teresa Business Center.
The company reports that it is one of the largest tile manufacturers in North America, with a total production capacity of 450 million square feet per year in nine facilities housed in manufacturing complexes in Chihuahua and Garland, Texas.
Interceramic also manufactures bathroom fixtures, setting materials and natural stone.
New Mexico Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela says that a major factor in the company's selection of Santa Teresa was the establishment of an overweight cargo zone north of the Santa Teresa Port of Entry.
