New Mexico – Gov. Susana Martinez says she's been getting calls from Republican presidential candidates seeking her support but has no plans to endorse anyone before the primaries.
The New Mexico Republican and the nation's only Latina governor said Thursday that she intends to let the race "play itself out and let the voters decide."
Martinez said she tell candidates who call her that she's too focused on New Mexico and didn't want to be distracted from her job as governor.
Martinez, whose is being touting by some as a rising star in the GOP, made national news last year when she became the nation's first Latina to be elected governor.
New Mexico is one of the last states to hold a presidential primary next year. The primary is scheduled June 5.
