La Academia Dolores Huerta Accepting Students Online

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with “La Academia Dolores Huerta” Head Administrator, Sylvy Galvan de Lucero. La Academia Dolores Huerta (LADH) is a dual language charter middle school for grades 6, 7, 8. It was named after labor union activist, Dolores Huerta, from Northern New Mexico who worked with Cesar Chavez for over thirty years. LADH is a tuition-free public school established in 2004 and is the only charter middle school in New Mexico serving students from the Las Cruces Area.

LADH focuses on a culturally diverse education program in the arts and languages, Conjunto and Mariachi music and Ballet Folklorico. They also recently added a Creative Digital Media Course, as well as teach the Common Core Aligned Curriculum to help build students’ academic achievement.
