A Family Affair - La Posta de Mesilla 80 years Strong.

Celebrating 80 years, opened September 16, 1939 by Katy Griggs Camunez.

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with La Posta de Mesilla co-owner, Jerean Camuñez Hutchinson to talk to us about the start of an iconic New Mexico Café 80 years ago on September 16, 1939. At the age of 24, Katy Griggs Camuñez, started her “greatest little chile joint,” which is now the iconic “La Posta de Mesilla.”

In celebration of Diez-y-Seis de Septiembre, co-owners of La Posta, Tom “Hutch” and Jerean Hutchinson will be the Grand Marshals of the Town of Mesilla’s annual 16th of September parade on Saturday, September 14th. For more information on the year-long 80-year celebration of La Posta visit www.laposta-de-mesilla.com and on Facebook.
