Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with this year’s Las Cruces Arts Fair featured artist, Hal Marcus, of El Paso, Texas. This will be his first time exhibiting in Las Cruces. For owner and operator for 23 years of Hal Marcus Studio & Gallery, the oldest art gallery in El Paso, one of his favorite art pieces is “El Mercado Juarez.” It depicts the marketplace in Juarez inspired by his weekly trips to Juarez with his Syrian grandmother to buy produce for the family grocery store. “Queen of Diamonds,” a more recent painting depicting harlequins, is featured on the 2019 Las Cruces Arts Fair poster. More of his art can be viewed at  www.halmarcus.com; and art book, “Hal Marcus Art & Times” by Monica Gomez.
