August 29, 2014 – Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, Emily Guerra bridges the community with New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service Coordinator for ICAN (Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition), Kari Bachman, to tell us about an effort to explore Healthy Food Zones around schools or other locations likely to be frequented by children, such as parks, playgrounds, or youth centers; and an also an effort to provide healthy food trucks. She says that besides focusing on childhood obesity, we also need to focus on people who don’t have enough to eat or the right kinds of foods to eat.
