Voice Of The Public - The Future of Journalism in New Mexico

Oct 3, 2020

From Searchlight New Mexico:  This is a critical moment. The confluence of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the impending election, and widespread social unrest makes community connection and the news media more important than ever.

But the dialogue between representatives of the press and everyday New Mexicans is lacking. A virtual town hall presented by Searchlight New Mexico will endeavor to change this.

This public forum is aimed at every citizen who cares about our democracy, which fundamentally rests upon access to solid facts and trustworthy reporting.

Moderator:

Sara Solovitch, Executive Director/Editor of Searchlight New Mexico

Panelists:

Fred Martino, Ph.D., Director of Content, KRWG Public Media

Michelle Donaldson, Vice President and General Manager, KOB TV

Inez Russell Gomez, Editorial Page Editor, Santa Fe New Mexican
