EL PASO, Texas (AP) — UTEP football coach Dana Dimel and former softball coach Tobin Echo-Hawk have received one-year show-cause restrictions over NCAA violations in both programs. The athletic department has been placed on a year's probation. The NCAA says the football and softball teams exceeded limits on the size of the coaching staff. The association says the softball program also violated daily and weekly limits on the number of hours athletes are allowed to practice.
