Bernalillo County, NM - On June 24, 2021, at approximately 7:27 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on NM Highway 314, near mile post 14, north of Los Lunas, NM.
The initial investigation indicated a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Andres Antonio Barros (41) of Peralta, NM, was traveling south on NM Highway 314. For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet crossed over the center line into the northbound lane of traffic, where it left the roadway and struck a tree. Barros was transported by emergency personnel to the UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by a doctor.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts appear to have been properly utilized. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
