The following is Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce's statement on the U.S. airstrike that killed Gen. Qasem Soleimani:
"The airstrike that killed Iranian Gen. Soleimani is another indicator that President Trump and his Administration will not stand idly by when Americans are at risk. The President will protect Americans and American interests. Iran is the world's largest state sponsor of terror. Last weekend an American contractor was killed in a rocket attack carried out by Iranian-backed militia. America’s response was fast and decisive. General Soleimani promoted terrorism and has been responsible for American deaths; his death sends Iran a strong message.”
