Over The Moon - Apollo 11- One Giant Leap 50th Anniversary Celebration

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with City of Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science Education Curator, Stephanie Hawkins, to talk to us about "Over the Moon," the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 First Moon Landing. There will be a variety of space-themed experiences: A Live Apollo 11 launch reenactment, a full moon hike to Dripping Springs, films, a science fair, a special lecture by NASA’s veteran Victor Murray, and more.

The celebrations are FREE and begin on Saturday, July 13th at Pat and Lou Sisbarro Field at New Mexico State University with a live Apollo 11 Launch Reenactment from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. by the Fellowship of Las Cruces Area Rocketry Enthusiasts (FLARE) and the NMSU Department of Astronomy.
