As of August 31st, 67.6 percent of New Mexicans over 18 have completed vaccinations against COVID-19.

To learn more about why some are still hesitant to get vaccinated, KRWG News spoke with Dr. Jagdish Khubchandani, a public health sciences professor at New Mexico State University. He has researched COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in the United States and in health care workers across the globe.

Dr. Khubchandani says that the World Health Organization listed vaccine hesitancy as a top threat to global health in 2019.
