Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with New Mexico State University Art Department’s graduating students, Karen Conley and Henry Hartig, to talk to us about a combined Master of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis show on Friday evening, November 30th from 6 to 9 at Wells Hall. The title of the exhibit is “Re: if i,” a play on words. Phonetically it reads as a single word: “reify” meaning to make something abstract more real. Students completing this program are required to create a unified body of work and curate their own space.

Featured MFA artists are Victor Beckman and Saleha Butt; BFA artists are: Coryn Catanzaro, Karen Conley, Henry Hartig and Autumn Hunnicutt in various media reflecting the culmination of their academic research. The media will include sculpture, jewelry, painting, video, installation and performance. Unique gifts of art will also be available to purchase at their fine arts exhibit.
