"New Mexico Wild" Brings Awareness of NM Oil and Gas Industries' Need to Clean Up

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke with New Mexico Wilderness Alliance Staff Attorney Logan Glasenapp to talk to us about the oil and gas industry paying its fair share to clean up its own messes. A recent report by The Center for Applied Research, Inc. found that about $8.1 billion would be needed to cover the clean-up and restoration costs of over 60,000 oil and gas wells and 35,000 miles of pipeline in the state. He commends State Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard for the steps she continues to take to ensure there is more financial assurance in place with these activities.
